All of the above! As previously stated, you can't go wrong. The first I got was The Introduction - it remains on my frequently play list. Another is Split Decision. :D

the more I listen to split decision, the more I like it. but if I could only own ONE morse album... it would have to be southern steel. (it was the first more I heard so I've got a soft spot for it - but frankly they're ALL good. um... except for major impacts. I didn't like that one too much.... don't kill me!) :p

For me it would come down to Coast to Coast and High Tension Wires if I had to choose one. I think HTW would win out right now.

About 6 years ago my car was stolen with all my good CD's in the back. I haven't replaced "Structural Damage", or "Southern Steel" yet...there's a gaping void in my Steve collection.

I don't make a long road trip without Coast to Coast. It just screams 'drivng music'. Love it!

+1 AND in the car I always seem to listen to it back-to-back with "Ten summoners tales" by sting... can't figure that one out.

If you wanna hear violin and keys, you might wanna go back to the Dixie Dregs period. Their live cd "Bring 'Em Back Alive" is stellar. Playing and sound wise.

Bonus: Steve's take on KASHMIR!...and the ungodly guitar solo (and I mean SOLO, just him) during Cruise Control.

I spend more time listening to SM than anyone else. (It helps that I listen to music most of the day at work.)

If I had to pick a fave, I'd say Southern Steel. Coast-to-Coast is a close second.

It is true that you cant go wrong with ANY of his albums. As I type right now I am listening to Split Decision and after that I am plugging in Stressfest. Dixie Dregs is pretty different from SMB, but Full Circle resembles it and is one of my favourite Dregs albums.
However to start off with (IMO) it would go as this: 1)High Tension Wires
2)Stressfest 3) Introduction 4) Structural Damage and everything else. Whatever order is good anyway :) .

IMO High Tensions Wires is the one with the most beautifull compositions from Steve, the first track "Ghostwind" is so melodic, i find it to be a very good choice as the opening title, Steve rules ;) !!!
