Awhile back when the Y2D was announced a video interview was made available http://www.ernieball.com/smy2d/ . In that interview between BP and SM, it was mentioned that the pickups on the Morse are set lower than normal. Does anyone know the factory pickup heights for the Morse?

Cheers
Colin

Beej was running around like a madman measuring the pickup heights on all the Morse/y2d models while he was here yesterday. If jon doesnt have an answer for you, Beej will :)

I can try to check with a machinist's rule tomorrow if there is no luck before then

Hey- missed this one.

I wrote the measurements down somewhere at home from way before. I didn't get to do them at Pete's as nobody had a ruler small enough :p

I'll try and dig 'em out tonight.

Heyya Colin,

I got these a while back from Jon-

8/32 - neck HB
10/32 - neck single
10/32 - bridge single
5 1/2 / 32 - bridge HB

From the top of the pickup cover to the bottom of the string.

Thanks again Beej (and Jon). Hey while I'm at it thanks to everyone that's contributed this year.

Hello

Thank you for the information, but here, on the old continent, we are using metric units ... What is the conversion ? 8 / 32 it is in inches ???

Thank you

8/32in = 1/4in = .25in x 2.54cm/in = .635cm = 6.35mm :)

Hello beej

Just to be sure, sometimes people are making stupid mistakes :

In the case of the Mars Climate Orbiter, engineers confusing metric and non-metric units incorrectly programmed a part of the orbiter's maneuvering system, sending it gradually off target -- and possibly to its destruction -- over the duration of its nine-month journey.

The $125 million orbiter, which was to study Martian weather and climate, was declared lost by NASA on September 23.

I was just kidding around there ;)

That's a funny one indeed. Rather like the miscalculation with the Hubble telescope as well.
