Hey Open Housers!

How does this gorgeous guitar play?
Does it feel like the regular Morse? Is the neck slightly different?
How about pickups? Are they a little brighter or hotter than the previous generation?

Give me some facts! Details! I don't want to hear it's beautiful and perfect. I already know that part! ;)

Fogman,

I played the Y2D at the open house, but I failed to get my hands on the older Morse model. So I cannot compare.

But the pickup selctions available via the 5-way switch kick ass. The single coil sandwiched next to the bridge humbucker sounds REALLY good!

The neck will be slightly different from the older Morse, as they have designed the Y2D neck from Steve's 20-year old neck on his #1. So there's 20 years of wear on that neck, and the Y2D should include it!

I'll tell you one thing.. the Morse guitars weigh a lot compared to a Petrucci! At least, that was my inital impression. (I did hold tommyindelaware's older Morse model for a weight comparison).

I'll give you a better answer in a few months.. I'm going to order a Y2D sometime this week. :D

i played a de purple burst most of friday night.....
asking how it played is a silly question...
does it feel like a reg. morse.....no...faster
the neck is slightly trimmer...perfect is the word i was searching for.
the maple cap seems to me to add a little more upper top end .......but the humbuckers were still l FAT FAT FAT !!!!!!!!!

sharper..yet still fat......yea..thats it.
:D

I also have a few questions :

- Is the Floyd Rose Tremolo sitting on the body like the axis or is it fully floating ?
- What does every position of the pickup selector correspond to ?
- The frets look rather large in the pictures, are they jumbo fretwire ?

Thanks

i think
position 1 is bridge
2 is bridge & middle
3 is middle
4 is neck & bridge
5 is neck
thats how it sounded to me......

if i'm not mistaken...the switch will come w/ a jumper that will allow you to change the wiring to a normal strat style oder of switching. (although i wouldn't be able to live w/o both hummers availible at the same time......)

the bridge rest on the body....
fretwire is medium.......like gibson wire.......
