Well I have been trolling here for years. Had a blueburst morse that I sold off years ago and missed it ever since. Well I decided to cut some bait and sell off 2 of my guitars and all my extra pickups and other crap and got together the cash to get me back my ball. :D
Was planning on getting a original one from Pete and this one popped up on the bay and so I bid thinking I would never get it for the price. Well never say never and here it is.

From the pics of Steve's guitars on this thread http://www.ernieball.com/forums/mus...teve-morses-thoughts-guitar-construction.html His neck is either set deeper in the body or something because if I set my bridge as low as his Y2D the strings would be laying on the frets. Be that as it may I love the guitar, the sound and how it plays and feels. For the first time in years I find myself without a serious case of GAS. But I have traded that for Ball envy;)

In fact, it's the same with my Morse. If I apply exactly the measurements you gave, the slanted single coil is not flush on the pickguard.
If I put it flush on the pickguard, then the distance is much greater taht the one you gave.
I bought my Morse brand new so there is no shim.
But of course my Morse is a newer model (from 2001 with 5 bolts) thus I believe the construction is a bit different.

the distance from the string to the pickup pole is the relavent #.
the picture is of steve's main y2d......which is a prototype.......which used a smaller profile gotah bridge that has since been discontinued by gotah. production y2d guitars are fitted w/ a tone pros bridge which are indeed slightly larger than the old style. the same is true of the standard model i "believe"....

Finally I can post again, changed my email last friday and never got a conformation email. This morning changed my email to my work email and I'm back in business.

Now on to the guitar.

I took the neck off the guitar and what did I see, a nice pink plastic shim at the bottom of the neck pocket (Pic is at home and will post when I get off work). So I took it out put the neck back on and guess what...the guitar needs the shim, maybe even a thicker one. I lowered the bridge as low as it would go and the action was higher then what I started with. So the shim went back in and all is good again. I was wondering if it was a different bridge on the #1 and Y2D, and thanks tommy for the answer on that.
So as a guess I would say it was easier to put a shim in then redo the routing for the neck pocket to account for the taller tone pros bridge.

Well now that the question of why my guitar didn't measure up like Steve's I can get back to playing it and not fretting over the lil stuff;)

Thanks a lot for the information.
Perhaps, can you measure the distance from the strings to the pickguard. Thus we will be able to estimate the width difference between the old bridge and the new one.

Thanks again

I thought it had to be done at the factory, makes sense because of the bridge change. Still can't complain about a thing on the guitar. But a piezo option would be cool though.
