That was neat, thanks Tommy. It does seem bizarre that Steve Morse is your dad and your guitar hero is Mick Mars. I guess your dad is your dad, not your guitar idol no matter how great he is.

If you like Steve Morse' writing, I highly recommend his book, "Open Ears: A Journey Through Life With Guitar In Hand" published by Cherry Lane, presented by Guitar One Magazine. Published in 2001, its a very interesting collection of Steve's essays and insights on being a musician. I ordered it through Borders/Amazon last year and couldn't put it down. Enjoy!

Sorry I was unclear guys - in the notes from the road Steve mentions his son is a big Motley Crue fan and that Mick Mars is his guitar hero -I didn't mean Tommy.

It's always fascinating to read Steve's notes from the road. This time, two things struck me:

1) Steve is a huge BRYAN ADAMS fan? Wow. It reminded me of the time that I read in an interview (about 2-3 years ago) that Steve was a big Alanis Morissette fan.

2) Steve's son Kevin idolizes the guitarist in Motley Crue? Wow. Well, I guess if he connects with the music......This reminded me of an interview with Steve (prolly about 10 years ago) where the interviewer kind of blurted out something like "does your son know what a guitar god his dad is..." and Steve's reply was something like "No, he just thinks I make loud scary music. He'd much rather I was a cowboy or rodeo rider."
