Tom. Wanted to let you know that the GK/Berg soundoff went down today.

The GK/Berg combo is quite tasty.

The Eden in a bit thicker in the lows, but the GK is more even, with more pronounced midrange. Really pusged the Bergs nicely.

So the Eden sold a couple days ago, and Im going to the GC sale monday. Unless, Im really moved by something there, I may be coming home with a 700RB-II or 1001RB-II.

MarkBass is comin' to a GC near you.

Gonna go with the a GK 700RB-II unless the MarkBass comes in at the nice price. Just gotta get the scratch together.

Need to get down to Rainbow Guitar to check out the 'berg cabs in person. Not in a hurry because I wanna see what this MarkBass stuff is like.

Talked to Andrew last night. He dug the Ampeg with the 'berg but I'm in the boat you were in, don't wanna lug that around.

Thanks for the update.

Where is that confounded Bongo?

The GK + Berg setup was truly a delicious tone. Not my Neos but they work. ;)

Tom, i'm wondering the same thing. An hour left before I have to leave for work...

I will try a MarkBass when they get to my local GC.

The Ampeg was great, but like you said, just too heavy for my pinched nerve.

just read that for 10,000 Days Justin Chancellor switched his amps to GK 2001RBs going through older Mesa 8x10s

His tone is always phenomenal.... and I think this album has probably the best bass tone of a tool album

Yeah his tone is great, but Im sure it has a lot more to do with his effect modulators and crap than the amp, not saying the amp isnt a great one, just saying I think he'll always sound like Justin Chancellor, no matter what amp.

I thought this thread was about my old avatar:eek:

my moniker befits your prior avatar and vice versa.

I always had a soft spot for that avatar and I miss it mightily.

Me thinks I may do the same. Just heard a radio add and your post finally registered. I love spending money I don't have.
