Dudley will be along shortly with a story for you pervs.

Fellow Tap fans,

Yes, it is I will one of Nigel's beauties.

Nigel Tufnel's double neck guitar / sitar, aka "Nitar". This baby is all Koa, with a book matched top and chambered body, in the "double-gourd" style. It's bound, all-around, with genuine Italian celluloid in a tasty Black & White block design. The inlays are genuine rhinestones set in stunning bezels, including the headstocks, knobs, and switch tips (carved from genuine bone). Topping off the embellishments, courtesy BP, is a portrait of Taj Mahal (the bluesman) in a fine gold frame, which is under my arm in the photo. We accessorized with a fine brass incense burner that can be hung by a gold chain from the headstock.

The Sitar side has 6 Sym-Pathetic strings which are tuned via the banjo style heads around the edge of the body. The Sitar effect is created by the strings buzzing against the sea shell imbedded into the bridge. The pickups are all DiMarzio. The guitar can be seen in action on the Spinal Tap 25th Anniversary video.

Rock on, Dudley

I am laughing so hard that I have tears in my eyes. That is truly a piece of work! I'm going to have to check out the DVD now.

Dudley, you are slap-damned crazy, mister. I LOVE that description!

I think you think I'm kidding- but I'm not!! I picked up a huge broken sea shell in Morro Bay. It seemed like the perfect material for the job, extremely hard- and very difficult to cut. But it sure made that Sitar sizzle...

Oh, no - I never thought, even for one second, that you were kidding. That's what made me laugh so hard - it's real! It exists!

I've tried a couple of those cheap-ass electric guitar/sitar things and found them wanting. And now I realize what was missing - the sea shell.

Dudley, I never doubt you. But can you sing the harmony parts on "Little Sister"?

Dudleys being modest yes it was THE ROCKING HOLLYWOODS (of minnesota).

Dudley any pix of you as a guitar slinging chick magnet rockin hollywood?

I'll have to dig deep for those, BP! Somewhere I do have a very humorous poster of the band that says it all! Don't hold your breath, but when I find it, I'll post it...

Anyway, it's true I was the original guitarist in the Rockin' Hollywoods- errrrrr "Bo Dudley". I know I'm gonna regret admitting to that one!
