The nova is the best effects pedal i have used. It has so many settings and they sound awesome. If it broke I would get another tomorrow but as it is built to survive a land mine explosion that will not be an issue

I've never been blown away by multi-fx in the past. I'm a individual pedals guy, this gives more tonal control and more choice than all in one box, although admittedly at a price. That said tap-dancing is tricky if you want to engage multiple effects without splashing out on a fancy controller.

Again the Nova is the only one of the recent bunch I would consider, its not perfect, but high enough quality for tone snobs in most situations. Its just a shame you still need an outboard midi controller and expression pedal to use it to its full potential...surely these should be included as most other manufacturers do.

G-System, also by TC Electronics, is also great, but huge and again relies on outboard pedals to use it properly.

Took a chance on ordering one because i read a lot of reports that some of the early models locked up when editing some of the patches , so got mine last Thursday spent a few hours that night playing around with it and guess what it locked up twice .

Gutted, sent it back the following day for a refund totally lost confidence in it :(

Is this with one particular model or several?? Such a big company should not have these
problems right??
After lots of thinking and trying in the local guitarshop I have bought the Boss me-70, haven't
played very much since i have it but so far i am very happy with it, nice tone and not
very complicated i think..
Thinking of buying a Blackstar ht5.. has anybody played a Blackstar ht5 in combination with a
Boss me-70, if someone does let me know what you think of that combination...
Thanks..

Boss GT-10 is of worthy mention. I've got 4 real nice tweaked patches out of 200 Via two Marshall JVM205h heads in stereo and two Vintage 4x12 TV cabs. Low volume, Mid and high is all there. I don't use any of the Pre Amp models, But the GT-10 has solid affects.

I used the Line6 XT Live, and it was a very good pedal...I´m a more analog guy, so I preffer the "cable to amp" setup, but that pedal could do tons of cool stuff

I'm really sorry to hear that. The one thing that TC is horrible at is CS. On their forum they have a list of serial numbers and ranges to avoid when buying one. I was fortunate enough to find that link before I bought mine. I should've mentioned it earlier. I'm so sorry it slipped my mind.

Many B Stock and used Nova systems you have to be careful with. But good luck on your search.

I am now looking for something more organic.

+1 Same here.....I've played so many pedalboards, but they never sound as organic or real as I think they should. Finally got some real pedals instead of an all-in-one deal.......changed my guitar playing life. What I was really missing this whole time was a good compressor, but the pedal together just add to my guitar sound and "color" it, instead of changing it completely.

I've owned one of the old Zoom pedals, a Boss GT-8, 2 different KORG Pandora models,....analog, true bypass, and quality stompboxes for me from now on. Actually, Guitar World's July 2011 issue helped me A LOT, 50 greatest stompboxes of all time.

Personally, I actually DON'T like having too many options/too much to choose from.......I very much like the simplicity of my current stomp boxes, as well as the "Real" sound they have. Good luck, definitely recommend trying before buying, if possible.

Im using a pod x3 live.. if you look at my threads or go to my youtube page dhalif's Channel - YouTube you can hear some of my patches.. just send me a private message if you need help with your unit... cheers!

Lincoln Brewster uses a POD X3 Live as for his amplifier going to the monitors, with BOSS pedals in front of it. His onstage amp/amps are for stage presence and sound only. He says he loves the X3, unfortunately, Line 6 doesn't make it anymore, they have the new POD HOD models. I'm not sure how similar they are to each other.
