I bought an older Albert Lee SSS online and recently the neck switch position cuts out. It’s the only position of the 5 not working.

Also if volume goes to 10, it cuts out as well, on any pickup.

Anyone have a thousand yard view diagnosis and if and how I could get it repaired?

Thanks!

Is it intermittent (cuts out, what I assume you're describing), or it doesn't work at all?

Could be dirt or corrosion on the switch- spraying some contact cleaner (DeOxit) and moving the lever back and forth would take care of that.

Could also be a bad solder joint or poor connection from the wire to the switch.

In any case, best best is to take off the pickguard and have a look.

If so , could be the switch- if not check the wires of the pickup and the pickups resistance. For the pot, it is dirt which added up over the years, try D5 Deoxit like beej recomended or clean with air. Hope that helps

It was in and out at my last show and now it just doesn’t work. Thank you! I’ll give it contact clean this weekend then go from there
