I was on my way to a gig tonight and we came around a curve and there was two deer in front of us. There was no way to avoid hitting them besides trying to stop. The deer on the driver's side wouldn't move and I thought for sure we were going to hit it. We managed to almost stop maybe three feet from the deer and then BOOM!!!!!. A car behind us hit us really freakin hard. The deer didn't even move until after the wreck. Everything in the car went flying all over the place including my music man axis (in it's case btw). The car that hit us was totaled. Our car drives like boat on water now. Fortunately there was no serious injuries, as far as the doctors can tell. The guy that hit us hurt his wrist but he wouldn't go to the hospital. He had just gotten his car and it's beyond repair. Fortunately everyone was cool about what happened and I feel sorry for the guy because he certainly got the worst of what happened. I was so focused on the deer I didn't even realize what had happened when the collision occured. After the wreck I was thinking maybe we should have plowed through the deer but a deer through the windshield would have probably killed one of us. It occasionally happens here. There is a huge deer population here and people get hurt all the time hitting them on highways. My next investment will definitely be some deer whistles to put on the car.
After we got back from the hospital the first thing I did was check my MM Axis. It wasn't even knocked out of tune and like everyone else in the car it wasn't setting in the same spot as it was before the wreck. I'm probably going to be sore as heck tomorrow but at least my guitar is alright
. Thank you EBMM for making quality instruments!!!
