I do one better...here's where you can find it:

Chicago Music Exchange - Vintage, Used, and New Guitars, Bass, & Amps | Fender, Gibson, Authorized Dealer

I've passed on it because it looks to have the wrong bridge pickup. They want $2500.

Ok, here's my dilemma, I'm not a serious collector but I LOVE the EBMM EVH. This was a result of having my neighbor's 93 purple for about 2 months to play. So, as I'm searching I hear a lot about the Axis and how close it is to the EVH. I'm sure there's plenty of links on the forum comparing to the two but I find the forum a little difficult to search unless you have hours to spend reading. Can anyone point me to a good forum link?

Opinions welcome...hold out for an EVH or go with an Axis????

Axis !

I have both.
My EVH is as-new (NOS) condition, so it basically lives in it's case.

You can get a banged up one to play, but you can get a new Axis cheaper !!

My Axii get plenty of playtime !!

Thanks, I ended up buying a used Axis. I just got it today. The action seemed a little high so I tried lowering it but got a lot of buzzing playing from about the 15th fret down. It looks like the strings are really close to the 22nd fret. The truss rod need minor adjustment but that didn't correct the buzzing problem. The action on my strat is much lower and it doesn't have that problem.

I was looking at the neck where it attached to the body and can see a very thin metal looking piece between the neck and body. I wonder if the neck isn't sitting flat or something. Any ideas?

I would start a new thread asking about buzz people might over look this thread due to title ..

I would check your truss rod adjustment and look to se if you have a big tilt in your neck if so shim might have to be taken out and more of it but mm uses a thin piece of plastic to shim necks in less you are talking about the metal under the floyd locking nut if so that is normal all my evh's have a brass looking shim for the nut

Just purchased a beautiful Silo. Looks to be Sequoia Gold with a matching headstock. Maple neck. SSS config.
Can you tell me year built and any other info from Serial # - G16689?
Strings appear to be lighter than 10-46s I normally put on my guitars. Maybe 9-42s? Can anyone give some tips for strings/setup?

You might be better off putting it in the S/N sticky. Good luck!

As Tim said 3 years ago, and what was true 3 years ago is still true today :)

check the serial number sticky thread as for strings gauge you can go from 9-42 to 10-46 with almost no adjustment a bit of intonation and a bit of a truss rod but if you are not familiar with it ask a tech to do it
