re-creating a EVH neck will be very very difficult since it's a computer copy of the original EVH guitar neck he played. Besides, why would you want to make it yourself? ;)

Their "Wolfgang" back contour is as close as you'll get. Without getting your hands on an EVH, or getting an Axis.

Just my 2c worth, but having tried the DIY route, I've found it's well worth the time and money to just get the real thing. The EVH's are on eBay (if you're in that price range), or you can get an Axis for alot less. It's the same neck profile save for the 1/32" added to the high E side.

The odds are Warmoth is not going to build that neck!!

For certain there are "neck pocket" issues among other things.

I had forgotten about that.

1. Warmoth uses a Fender-scale neck pocket size. It won't fit a EBMM.

2. They recently were busted for copying EBMM's headstock profile, which is copyright infringement.

Then, the "Wolfgang" back contour is going to be as close as you'll get.

And the Axis doesn't "suck", unless it has a top like this . . . . .

lol
i just tried both of them the same day (a good evh music man and an axis). God, i prefer the evh...
But a music man (even an axis) will be alwas better than an
ibanez
washburn
yamaha
...
Anyway the wolfgang specs seems to be a lot fatter than the MMevh one.

I have an EVH and I can feel a difference. It isn't night and day. One isn't great and the other one sucks. It's just a slight difference in the necks. I like my EVH but arguably it's what I'm use to.

The Axis had 1/32" added to the high E side, so it can feel thicker or wider - especially at the higher registers.

People had reported some string slippage on the EVH, and the addition onto the Axis remedied that.

Otherwise, the back profiles are similar. Same nut width, same asymetric back contour.
