This is gonna be a long story hopefully made short. When I was just starting to learn guitar my uncle gave me a vhs of a Dream theater show. I had never seen or heard anything like it and I was hooked. I eventually got into all the other gods like Vai and Eddie, but John was always over the top for me. Fast forward a little bit and I saw another tape of them playing a change of seasons live. John was playing his JP 7 in ruby red burst and I was immediately drawn to it. I wanted one but never thought I could afford one. Over the years I had aquired a bunch of guitars but the jp was my unicorn...until I played a Jp7 at a local guitar store. I wanted to do whatever it took to snag this beast. So I took in two of my JEMs a couple of other guitars that were sitting around and some rack stuff that was collecting dust. I finally had my dream guitar and I was hooked.
The guitar always sounded and played great but it buzzed a bit. I always thought it was an action or string gauge issue and planned on bringing it in for a setup. I fell on some hard times and basically couldn't do it in a timely fashion. I finally got it into my authorized service center and he called me with some bad news. The neck was twisted and so was my stomach. It was 3 months out of warranty. I freaked out because I've dealt with things like this before and feared the worst.
And then...I sent an email to AJ. And just like that, it Was taken care of. Just like that. I shipped it to them and they made sure it wasn't something I did (it's probably the cleanest jp7 they have seen cause I'm soo anal) and made a new neck for it for me. I got the call today that it was finished and being sent home.
The point of this whole thing is to express my gratitude for BP and the employees and THE greatest guitar company on the planet. I purchased a jp6 shortly after getting my jp7, but it's things like this that make people want to be customers for life. I WILL be buying more and I can honestly say that music man guitars are the best sounding, looking, and playing guitars in the world. Thank you soo much BP!!
