Hey fellow ball heads! Need some advice on EQ here, I have been playing out my marshall dsl 50 and luke 2 with Emg's for 3 years regularly now and I really like the amp and guitar combination, I think they compliment each other great. I see steve using these when he has to rent them and could never find anyone that has seen his settings for these up close. I realize he has a scooped mid range and that's it haha. I know they are naturally a bright amp. I saw a video of luke and morse along time ago when they did the 25th anniversary at GC in California. It's not on the net anymore. Luke was actually demoing the 25th anniversary guitar and ripped a badass solo that was just brutal (as usual) that's how I discovered him. Anyways, he was using the jcm2000 and the tone was great, when is his tone not great? Anyways I'm just looking for some specifics. Like lead 1 or 2. Tone shift in or out. And gain and presence. Any help would be appreciated, not trying to be him but am looking for a similar sound. Thanks.

Luke has been using a Kemper Profiling Amp lately. i'm not sure if he has profiled his rig, or just used some presets. You could probably check out some of his videos online to get a better idea what he is doing. I know he went back to using stomp boxes in front of his rig. I'm not really sure what though.

I think there are videos out there him talking about his current setup, Bogner amps and pedalboard. The pedalboard is pretty much because it's easier to replace units on the long tours than having customized rigs. Most Bogner amps are basically a redesign of Marshall JCM800/900 architecture with twists to make them more flexible and different mid-range tonality.
