Hey JL,

I play a Morse through a Flextone III Plus. You're right, killer amp. For max twang, I use the Vox AC-30TB amp and cab settings. Gets me right where I need to be; even with a fullsize humbucker. You're #2 position on the blade switch will quack like nobody's business. Remember, a good right hand technique will have a lot to do with the twang too.

Cheers,

You're welcome...:D

The trick is to use the models like you would the real amps. IOW, if you use the Doubleverb amp and cab, crank the volume and master volume all the way up and use the gain knob to control you overall volume level. It sounds surprisingly close to a real; Fender Twin Reverb. That goes for the rest of the models. It really pays to keep the manual on-hand.

Cheers,

+1 Butch!!!! That is the trick to using any of the Line 6 stuff!!!! the presets are just a starting point. I have the Flex III and the shortboard and I could do any gig in the world in any style with that rig. Is it the real thing???? no---do the punters know the difference---NO---do I feel like draggin a multiamp rig around ---HELL NO!!!!!:D

Hey guys,

I'm jumping on the bus too. I have both the Flex III Plus and the Flex III XL, and I gigged with them consistently for years (since the day after I got the first one, actually). Never had a tone or sound that I couldn't figure out either a close approximation to, or a dead-on clone of. Am just waiting to receive a Bass POD XT Pro and hope that it falls in the same category as the Flex amps - although I am fairly confident that it will....

Having gigged with the Duoverb for the last few years, I have nothing but praise for Line 6 stuff. Its doesnt sound exactly like what its supposed to, but I like it and the audience does not know the difference!

Not quite a quack on this Luke position...it combines the hum and middle single and sounds much closer to just the hum than a quack. I actually can't get my Luke to quack. But the Albert Lee is a quacker.

Yeah, I guess I can see that. But I thought the Luke came stock with an EMG 89 in the bridge position. That pickup is supposed to be basically and 85 in full mode and an SA in split mode. I thought the Luke was split in position #2. Maybe not, I'm not as versed in that model anyway. Now the Albert Lee? yes, it is very quacky...

It's an 85. Some people have switched it out for an 89 (Norm comes to mind). I probably should in one of mine too. In fact, I'm definitely gonna do it. Thanks for reminding me!

Ahhh, that makes sense; yes, I would switch it too. In fact, EBMM should go ahead and make'em standard. Unless Luke doesn't want it that way....

For me, less quack is good. I'm not a big fan of that "Strat" type sound. I like Strats, but not that the quacky sound. My style doesn't have much use for it. But it has it's place for sure. I read on Harm Central a Luke review that said the Luke does everything great EXCEPT that SRV type sound... which pretty much sold me on it! I bet it can do a pretty decent SRV though.

true the audience won't know... but you will.... sorry Tim.. I'm gonna disagree... I can't make Line6 stuff work and I've really tried.....something just dosen't feel right and when I plug into my old Marshall and my pedalboard it is exactly what I want to hear and FEEL..... just what I've found..:)

I can understand and agree with that. I had a couple of guitar buds come over a few months back. One brought a Vibrolux and the other brought an old plexi. Yeah, you could tell the difference; but I got a lot of compliments on mine. The Line 6 stuff, the good stuff, does sound really good if you read the manual.

Butch I get what you are saying here.... I have heard Line6 stuff sounds fantastic.... and then I go and buy some.... take it home and spend a long time with it.... I get some great sounds that record very well and for most purposes will work great... no problems....:) then I go back and plug into my old rig.... and the games over for me.... it just makes me feel so much better... I really do hope that someday soon I can find a moddelling product that will work for me in this way...:)
