Hi everyone,

I love the look and feel of the Music Man Albert Lee neck so much that I thought about giving my Telecaster the same treatment. I could sand of the satin finish and treat it with the Birchwood-Casey's gunstock oil & wax treatment.

Any thoughts?

The only thing I can think of is that you might want to make sure your Tele has a "double action" truss rod before you do that - I don't know what your local climate's like Butch, but I'd hesitate to take the finish off a neck with a conventional old-style truss-rod here for fear of having it back-bow on me.

Sanding..

Hey there.
I sanded the back of my squier strat about 15 years ago. I didn't sand it all the way to the wood, but just enough to get that "no finish" feeling and haven't had any problems. I am debating in my pea brain if i should risk the fret board.
