The Sabre bridge only has 3 screws where the G&L has 4. You may have a bear of a time finding an original Sabre bridge.
If it has a G&L bridge it isn't "all original". Post a pic and we'll see if anything else is different.

My friend, you will defintely have an easier time finding a needle in a haystack. I've seen everything for a Sabre come up for sale, but never a bridge.

They do show up occasionally. I bought two pre-EB Sabre bridges on ebay a few years back.
Unfortunately, I've since sold both to people with pre-EB Sabres that needed an original bridge.

I know my music man sabre is all origianal except for the bridge because I changed the bridge myself due to corrosion and chrome peeling off years ago, I purchased the guitar brand new! Did not know I would still have the bass, but I still would like it back to original. Before you ask, I do not have the original

That G&L sure looks very close. Would be the 2nd best option me thinks.

Don't get testy dude.
You are looking for something that you may never find. The pre-EB Sabre owner clan is pretty small and most of us know each other online. Play nice.
Many still skim Sabre stuff and could run across one. If you are cool we may send you the high sign if we see one available.
The G&L bridge was Leo's next step and looks close to the Sabre and is just as good and comfy. No other bridge will look and feel as close to the OG Sabre.
Since you changed it you know about the 3 vs 4 screws and whatever you did under the hood to decide if the wood is sound enough to go back.

Resale even on all original Sabres has not really hit a high point like the same era Stingrays, and may never. My guess is that your Sabre with that G&L bridge, or even a Quan, would fetch as much or very close to as much at resale than an original Sabre bridge. Playability prolly is the same as well.

I've ordered a new chrome g&l bridge to replace the black bridge, It may be as close as I'll ever get to the original and it should look great on the bass.
I won't give up looking for an original , since more people know I'm looking for one maybe it will turn up sometime! And again I do! really appreciate everyones help. Thanks!!!!
I will post pics of the sabre when I install the chrome bridge as well as pics of my 2001 SR5 that I've recently aquired.

I'd love to have the bridge but that is all I need , would be high price to pay for just a bridge!! What do you guys think?

I'd go for it. You can aways sell the pre-amp and PUPs which usually go for a small fortune.

You should buy it for the bridge and part out the rest. About a month ago someone here needed pickups. The pre would sell in a heartbeat too.
