I picked up a nice Music Man Silhouette on the weekend at Guitar Center on sale. This is my first made in USA guitar and my first Music Man and I'm loving it.

One question: does anyone know of a good gig bag that would have a tight fit for this guitar? I have seen some old "Music man 5995 gig bag" gig bag on various web sites but they appear to be discontinued. (I attached an image of the bag also.)

Any ideas where I could get one of these? Or other recommendations for a gig bag?
thanks

These are very good gig bags. I have three of them! I've been looking for a home for the nearly new one if you're interested.

I've got one, they fit really well.

Though, after a few close calls at gigs, I finally bit the bullet and bought a case from Mono. Totally different thing- it's big, but pretty damn indestructible. I'd say if your guitar's going to see any potential abuse, consider something like the Mono case.

Those musicman gig bags are very nice, and fit just great, but they have only one shoulder strap and it's not reinforced in any way at the point where it's sewed to the bag. It's not a big problem with light guitars such as ebmm, but it's a weak point anyway.

I used to have another brand gig bag that worked really well for my Silhouette. I can't recall what it was right now. Basically anything made for a Strat should fit the Silo.

By the way, ZUrlocker, we need to see pics of this alleged Silhouette guitar of yours. Without said pics, how do we really know you have one. I'm kidding... we just like looking at pics of nice guitars. ;)

The Suhr gig bag is fantastic with tons of padding and also neck support. Looks very similar to the Mono gig bag beej mentioned.

Try to find a Warwick Rockbag - either the "premium plus" or the "royal premium" line.

I've had one for my mandolin for a LONG time and I'm extremely impressed with the protection and how well the case itself has survived. And I love the clip-on shoulder straps. I'm getting to that time where I need something new for my SS, and it'll be one of those.

It's a little expensive.. But the reunion blues continental gig bag is everything they claim it is. I wouldn't want to, but I feel like I could run it over with my car and the bass inside would be okay.

I have an Incase bag. Very expensive but it's nearly a hard case and keeps my balls snug.
