I have an Ernie Ball Steve Morse Signature Guitar for sale. However, it is not a regular Sinature Model, it has an actual signature/autograph on the headstock in place of the stamped signature, and is numbered 4/50!

I saw Steve at a guitar clinic in Nashville in '89 at the Renaissance Hotel where he gave a clinic using this model of guitar through a Lexicon rack with a midi controller! Very cool!

Anyway, this guitar sits in my closet rarely getting seen or played and it's about time I pass it along for someone else to cherish. It is in excellent condition with no physical damage at all. It is also functionally sound, with a multitude of pickup variations. It also has a hardshell case. You can check the spec sheet at ErnieBall.com.

Anyone interested can re-mail me at [email protected]. I have extra pics and will be more than happy to answer any questions!

What's the significance with the 4/50? Is it the 4th Morse made? I know Steve signed the guitar when it was first released but I thought he signed more than 50, Nice guitar.

Check my other baby! It's a 1 of a kind Les Paul! 24k hardware, raised Gibson logo on headstock, Explorer neck, mirrored pickguard, 3 pickups. It has extremely low action also! I know it's not a Music Man/Ernie Ball but any guitar player would love this one!

Hi, I'm new to this forum. I bought this guitar (the Steve Morse listed above). I found it posted here after finding it on Craigs list. If anyone is considering the LP also pictured in this thread, read on.

I specifically asked the seller about Mildew and was assured there was none. It arrived yesterday and I knew immediately that things were not right. White dust came out of the Lever slot when I flipped it, and the volume and tone pots were very noisy. I unstrung it and looked in the cavity. There is white musty smelling fungus caked on the controls (under the pick guard).

The sellers response was "I wish you'd have told me what you meant by mildew". Sometimes we roll the dice on purchases like this. I'd suggest not engaging with him as a seller for obvious reasons. There was no offer of compensation or kick-back.

Cosmetically, it's great. It needs a couple of control components replaced and could use a fret dress. I have in inquiry into Music Man customer support about sending it in to get it cleaned up and back to factory spec.

Just thought I'd share.
Cheers,
PJ

Wild. I've honestly never seen mildew on a guitar. That's gotta be something to see.

Good luck with the clean up.

Wow. I didn't look to see how old this thread was. I just happen to hit it on a google search. Sorry for not checking the date on this post.

Same guy. I googled his full name + guitar - and found other places that he listed it (also from 2005). I guess it makes my comment about anyone considering the LP kind of moot and out dated now.

With regard to mildew. A friend of mine has a massive vintage guitar collection (35 or so). Unfortunately, many of them are getting wasted due to poor long term storage conditions. He just doesn't get it. It's what prompted me to ask about it on this one - the fact that it's 20+ years old and looks unplayed.

It is the same guy. I saw that on CL and wanted to buy it! But I was too late. uncle_fester ... you beat me to the punch!

Shouldn't be any kind of problem to fix up the electronics. Worst case you can buy everything from EB.

If you decide you want to flip it ... just shoot me a PM :)

In regards to mildew, a friend of mine has a 79 strat that just reeks. Both the case and guitar really stink of it. I think the guitar was rode hard and put away wet one too many times, stored away for quite sometime in a dark closet, and developed it's own unique odor! Nothing has worked to quell the stench either.
