Hey!

I thought you might wanna have a look at quite an interesting MM axe, it's here:

Music Man STINGRAY 1 - 1977 rok - UNIKAT !!!!!!!!! (440520729) - Aukcje internetowe Allegro

Please note, I'm neither the seller, nor his friend etc - the guitar is quite interesting, and we all love MM's, so everyone should have a look! :)

Quick translation from Polish:

The guitar was manufactured in the old MM factory owned by Leo Fender. The instrument is in a mint condition both visually and musically. The s/n is G003913, which - according to the seller - is item numbered 913 from the third series (each of the series amounts to 1000 items). What's interesting is the active electronics, powered with standard 9V battery:

- Volume
- Treble
- Bass
- High Definition (switch)
- Pickup Selector (the black knob) - neck, both, bridge, phase out - 4 positions

What r your thoughts?

Think this should be in the ebay treasures thread...It's a pre-EB musicman, so I doubt if anyone is interested in it. They pop up here in Holland occasionally, great guitars.

Those holes look like they are just in the pickguard. It looks interesting. The switching on those old MM guitars sure look different.

This one looks like it is in great condition for a 30 year old guitar.

I don't believe that the color is original. AFAIK they were only available in black or in a natural finish.
This guitar looks more blue to me...

But anywhoo: those were (and still are, if in good condition) great guitars. Moses Mo, the guitarist in Mother's Finest still uses one of those!
