Here in the UK some of the shops are selling a 2EQ Musicman Stingray USA 133. It is available in three colours, Pacific Blue, Candy Red and Black and with a choice of maple or Rosewood neck. It comes with a soft case rather than a hard case and has simplified electronics.

I can't seem to find any info on this bass though. Is this just a standard 2EQ Stingray with a soft case or are the simplied electronics different from the normal 2EQ Stingrays?

Any help appreciated.

They're standard 2 band Stingrays with a gig bag rather than hard case. The UK importer Strings and Things organised this for the UK, and they were originally (and possibly still) offered for a bargain price.

If you search the forum there are previous threads on this IIRC - the 133 is part of the factory ordering code for these basses.

Thank you. I did wonder about the 133 part and did not want to buy some inferior stripped down version on the Stingray when I could afford a normal one. I am not bothered about the hard case so this might be just the ticket if its basically a 2EQ Ray.

I asked Darren at the BMerchant to match the Soundslive/GAK price (might have been GAK) of £1200 ish for a flat colour and a hardcase...check GAK's site. Then you can have any colour you like and a case for a bit more! :)
