hey all. I have a 1yr old 30th musicman bass that I got from my X wife for a wedding gift. its in perfect condition except for a small 3/8's gash in the body. not sure how that happend. I can send pics if you want. I love the guitar to death, but because is was a gift from my X, I would prefer to try and sell it even though I will loose money and get a different one. so I guess I have 2 questions. should I keep it and fix it? which I heard I have to have the whole thing stripped and redone, and it probably won't look the same. or 2, sell it and get something else: but what? I like all types of music, but into more old R&B, soul right now. But still like the classic led: metallica: ozzy, etc. any suggestions would be helpfull. thanks

Not sure if you even posted a pic of the damage in that last thread, but to me small gashes are easy to repair. Complete re-finish is probably not needed.

I understand why you want to off the 30th for personal reasons. I would suggest selling your 30th and trying to buy a used Stingray HH or a Bongo HH, either of which are very versatile and will easily cover the various genre you mention. Perhaps a trade post in the For Sale thread at the top of the page would be worth a shot.

PS. If my X had a small gash she would have been more valuable.

attaching it here is not a very good option (limited size and space useage allowed)

i will suggest (like i learned in here as well) to up it to an online photohost like eg: photobucket

id save a 30th even if it came from an ex.. only so many 30ths in the sea, as opposed to women :D
