Hi Guys,

I would love to more about how EVH came into using Musicman, i know he had the Peavey Wolfgang..did that evolve into the axis? and axis super sport?

Does the design of both the Axis and Axis SS come from EVH himself? and did he design the pickups with dimarzio? I would like to know more history on the development of these wonderful guitars.

Any insight would be well appreciated...

Thanks

Pjay

Do a search for that stuff on this forum and you'll find a pile of old threads.

BP's even got an article in his blog with some good EVH history.

As for new threads about EVH, it's a no-no here.

(Read the old threads etc and you'll know why)

Bp's blog actually could answer a bunch of your questions. The only thing I'll add is that the Wolfgang came along after the MM EVH/Axis.

Also, The Axis was a guitar already in development before EVH came along. Changes were made to that design to fit EVH's personal preferences. After EVH left, the EVH became the Axis with a few improvements.

It's not so much that EVH is a sore point, it was 10+ years ago. The board has quite a few articles in here about that guitar, just hit the search. Kinda digging up old history that has been discussed to death.

To quote the ever illustrious David Lee Roth, "Meet me in the future, not in the pasture."

I believe he came to EBMM in 1990. As was said earlier, the basic design was already done. They just tweaked it to his preferences. He was here for 6 years (or so) then left for PV. As of that time the Axis models were born.

I believe this comes pretty close. As has been said, most of this has been beat to death here. Do a search. The only subject more tired than EVH the man around here is comparisons between the EVH and the Wolfgang. That too can be seen in old threads and not dug up again.

No harm in asking, just giving you heads up along with the other guys.

I did a search and I'm not really finding much history. Could some help me out with some links or a better search phrase?

So let me get this right...Why is this continuing? It gets mentioned that the subject is dead and that he forum is full and the topic stays alive? I dont understand how someone cannot search evh and eddie and not find anything...Guys its almost 2009 give it a rest.
