Hello,

I just bought a new Musicman Axis from an online store and the trem arm that came with the guitar does not want to go in. I attached a picture of what they sent me. Im afraid to push to hard out of fear of breaking something. Can anyone confirm if this is the correct bar?

Thank you!

Does it not go in at all? It definitely looks like the correct arm. Does it slide into the bridge at all? It could be that the tension grub screw at the top is screwed in too far, which makes it very hard to put the arm in.

Thank you for the reply! It goes about halfway in and then it gets tight and won’t go further. I feel like I would have to use force to push it all the way in and I’m just worried I’ll break something. I’ll check and see if the screw is blocking it.

Correct arm! As pointed out by tbone, there is a small allen screw at the top right on the tremolo block just under the fine tuner plate that has to be loosened. You should hear a click when the bar goes all the way down. If not, you will have to remove the backplate and loosen/tighten the bottom allen screw on the trem block.

Thank you so much! I got it in and good to go now.
There is a lock spring on the bottom of the block that you have to push the bottom "button" past for it to lock in, which is quite a tough spring. It can take a bit of force to get it to pop in, especially when the guitar is new. Sometimes butting a very small dab of dry lube on the very bottom of the bar can help.
