7 knobs on that Bongo  ?????!!!! The colour looks a bit like mystic dream.

What do all the knobs do?

In line with the sanitary ware remarks which used to be popular on the net, perhaps this was the ahem.......bidet version :)

Wonder where that is...

Probably sitting under BP's house (that seems to be where all the cool stuff ends up). I got a chance to tinker around with that at the open house (un-amped, unfortunately) and the curves on it were interesting - I am glad they "stretched it out" a bit. As to the knobs, we were all dying to see what they could do.

We need more info on high close the proximity of your pickups are to the strings. The neodymium magnets are no joke. This, in addition to the 18V preamp, are the prime culprits for how much output these basses have. I have an 08 5HH and when I first received it I set it up exactly how I like them. I thought I had bad strings because the intonation issues I was hearing were too prevalent to be believed even after multiple intonation adjustments. Well when I finally got around to changing my "faulty" strings the first thing I noticed when I cut one off was it's immediate magnetic suction to the strings. There it was just glued to the pickup. Then the thought crossed my mind, "these are some serious magnets. So much so that they must be literally pulling my strings out of tune." So I then grabbed one new string and put them all back on. Next I lowered the pickups away from the strings. Less output and no more tuning issues. They're now sitting about 1/4" above the pickguard and I have a better sound, more manageable output and no magnetic pulling of the strings. Maybe give it a try and let us know what you think.
