I was wondering how did y'all came up with the line of guitars and basses names.. I know that guitars like the "Luke" "JP" " Albert Lee " " Steve Morse" came from each of the signature players, but where did the "AXIS" "Silhouette" "Reflex" "Stingray" "Bongo" names came from?? I just would like to know a Lil more history about my fav guitar making manufacturer, or as I like to call it "my other family" :). ???

Well, I hope this helps a little: The Bongo has a lot of punch, similar to a bongo; the stingray has a nice bite to it, similar to the Stingray; the Reflex has very good response; the Silouette has a great profile; the Axis is bold.

For the Sting Ray you'll have to hold a seance and contact Leo Fender - he named it back when he was the instrument side of Music Man back in the 70s.

If I'm remembering correctly only the Sting Ray and Sabre basses were put back into production once EB purchased the company (and of course the Sabre bass was retired in the 1990s once other bass models were devleoped by EBMM). Very few people were/are fans of the Sting Ray or Sabre guitars that Leo designed.
