Hey there people. Lets get straight to the point. It seems that my JP6 has an issue on the volume knob. When i try to turn on the volume up to the max, the knob goes a little more further clockwise than it should. When this happens, the guitar mutes. The sound stops. When i move it a bit right or left it sounds back again. The think is that none of the allen wrenches that the guitar had inside from the factory, can actually fit exactly in the knob's hole. So i cant remove the knob and check inside to see what is happening. Lately i had some issues with that sound stopping thing, while i was switching the pickups selector. It is somehow in conflict with the volume knob or at least this is how it feels for me. Anyone knows what to do? What is the proper allen wrench that i should have in order to "operate" the knobs? Is there any number or id for it? I cant figure out why the allens that i already own, cant fit. They are thinner or fat. Any ideas?

Thanx bro. By the way, i opened the screw cap at the back of the guitar, behind the knobs and i saw that these round things that the knobs are attached were like moving as i was turning the knobs. Is that means that the knobs arent well screwed on these things?

from what you are saying I believe that you are referring to the potentiometers? (Pots)
Seems like you have unscrewed the plastic backplate and you are looking into the wiring cavity?
The pots are secured by nuts on the front of the guitar and these need to be tight enough to ensure that they do not move (rotate). On the plastic knob itself is a rubber ring - slide this to one side and insert the 2 mm allen key. This will tighten the plastic knob to the shaft of the pot - and everything should be ok.

Yeah thats what i ment. So let me get this.. Ill have to insert the allen key in the hole and tighten it? Shouldnt i remove the pot instead? I have the feeling that the nut exactly underneath the plastic pot, is a little bit loose. I mean that the whole plastic pot is moving all over in any direction when i touch it. It needs to be tightened in general. But shouldnt i remove the whole pot?

ok, so lets break this down into 2 problems that we'll tackle one by one?

1) The pot itself is loose (forget about the plastic knob, that'll be number 2)
take the backplate off so your guitar looks like this - well not exactly like this cos you wouldn't want yer paint to look like this :)

Now on the front of the guitar, remove the plastic knob - yeah, sorry you gotta take it off! So Slip the rubber ring on the plastic knob to one side, insert the 2 mm allen key - lefty loosey - sorry, turn the allen key anti clockwise and take the plastic knob off.
Now you can get at the nut on the front of the guitar, tighten this up whilst holding the pot inside the cavity shown above - this will ensure the pot won't twist (and snap off any wires) as you tighten the nut on the front.
Your POT should now be as firm as a firm thing.

2) Well your knob is soooo loose it's off? So Put your knob back on the shaft of the pot.
Insert your 2 mm allen key into the hole on the knob and tighten clock wise. Slip the rubber (ring) back over the knob and all should be good.

Let us know how you get on?
