Help! Musicman loss of output

I have noticed that my 2005 Stingray 3 band EQ model has not got nearly as much output as it seemed to have in the past. I have used it throught the same amp and have got used to the typical settings and now I have to turn the amp up alot to get much output.

When I switch to another one of my basses I have to turn down the amp a lot, I have changed the battery and checked that the terminals in the battery compartment are clean, any ideas?? is there a history of preamps failing??

also check that the metal pins in the battery compartment actually touch the battery poles. sometimes they get a little bit bent and dont make contact with the battery.

I would also follow up with a phone call Monday. Sometimes emails don't get priority handling.

I had another look at my Stingray and took out the battery compartment and cleaned the contacts again and this time I bent the contacts in a bit to make sure of a good contact as suggested and it cured that problem and it sounds loud and clear once more.
