Greeting folks, brand new to the forum. I recently bought a Musicman Majesty and it's a great machine, but when I try to get that gargling effect when using the bar, it just ain't happening. I own a JP13 and it works a treat on that, but not on the Majesty, anyone got any ideas why ?

It's floating alright. Also, I find that the neck on the Majesty is a bit thicker than that on the JP13, even though on the Musicman website, the specs for both necks are the same, strange.

Yeah - QuietSpike is asking about springs - also, have you changed the string gauges?

As far as the neck - I find my Majesty a bit thicker as well and I like that. I have a standard JP6, JPX and Majesty. Necks feel different on all. The Majesty feeling the thickest, the JPX the thinnest and widest feeling and the JP6 inbetween.

I am in love with my Majesty!!!!

The Maj just doesn't flutter as well as other JPs. It's not just your guitar, OP. But a couple things you can do are to use lighter string gauges and making sure the springs are adjusted correctly. I usually have two of the springs more closely connected to the bridge on the bass side to balance out the tension (not sure if it helps or not, but it makes sense to me lol).

Also, "gargle?" lol
