Does the knob stay "popped out"? If so, there may be a slight physical adjustment needed because the knob isn't allowed to "bottom out". When pushing the knob down (to turn off the gain boost) the know but bottom out and then latch and stay down. If the knob cannot get physically low enought to latch it will remain in the upper position (popped out) and the gain boost will stay on. To make the adjustment (increase distance from guitar body to knob bottom) one would need to go into the back guitar and tweak the position of the circuit board. This could involve washers around the pot between the pot and the inside of the guitar body.

If the knob stays in the "down position" but the gain boost is still on the knob/pot is possibly defective and needs replaced. Or, there is a bad connection in the circuit somewhere.

Hello thank you for your reply. The knob stays poped out but if i press it the gain boost is off. so i think it has to do with the spring. Any idea how to fix it?

Aren't those knobs held in place by set screws? I would take off the knob, and then see if the pot shaft will stick in without the knob. If the shaft goes too far into the knob, it doesn't go down far enough for the push push pot to latch.

As suggested above, it kooks like the pot isn't fully depressing to click into place. I'd also suggest taking the knob off and trying again.

The knob is the plastic bit that sits on the pot. Take the knob off, so that you can fully depress the shaft of the potentiometer.

So after that, the pot shaft won't physically click in, then out, etc.? If that's the case you'll need to replace the pot.

You'll need to order a replacement pot then. They are available on the MM site for purchase, or I assume you can get them through a local distributor.

I would email MM and ask them (1) which part # you need (give them the serial # of your guitar), and (2) who you can order it from over there.

Yes, as stated here the knob position on the shaft can be adjusted. I forgot about that in my original post. I was thinking about when I received my JP Honey Butter back from EBMM after repair. The knobs were quite high off of the body and it looked pretty weird. I opened the back of the guitar and found loose washers that the EBMM tech forgot to install on the pots... but I digress!

naklis: were you able to remove the black knob? This involves carefully removing the rubber grip by gently sliding it off the knob. Then, loosen the set screw in the knob and remove the knob.

edit: the pot can be shimmed so the pot sits lower into the body. This is why it is important to remove the knob and then test the shaft. Removing the knob removes both these variables: 1) knob position on the shaft and 2) pot position in the body. This allows the shaft latching mechanism alone to be tested.

For the replacement pot you should be able to order it via your local distributor:
International Dealers
I was able to order one for my LIII via Algam the french distributor, it's also Algam in the Netherlands so it should be possible ;)
As Beej wrote email MM first to get the correct part number.
