Hi

I bought a used Musicman Sterling 2HH (black w/ maple neck, absolutely love it). It has a 5 way switch... Can anyone tell me what it does? The position nearest the bridge seems to be the closest to the classic Musicman tone (Bridge PU only) but not sure about the rest of the positions.

Help is greatly appreciated.

Thanks

Carsten

Down side to the dual pickup sterlings is that you cant get a stingray tone since all switching is in series.

Incorrect

Dead center is parallel... but yeah it would be a parallel bridge Stingray tone. Personally Id not want to be stuck in all parallel like the Stingray.

Center is the two paralel humbuckers wired in series so it isnt the same as the stingray wich is wired in paralel with the 2 humbuckers on.
Whatever, to each his own. But i do like the fact that the single h models can do both. I find series to be a bit too agressive in manny situations.

I stand corrected of sorts

But the "parallel" setting in center is clearly a more relaxed scooped in the mids tone thats far different than the other settings. I definitely like a rosewood with a sterling to dial back that aggression. Theres always flats too
