Hi guys am really new to the forum. Got my EBMM Stingray 5HH in October and loved every moment after that. I just had a question for you guys. Here in India we have major problems carrying our own amplifiers and so I send a direct signal to the pa. In such a situation what do you guys think I should add to get a clear stingray tone cause the ultimate tone that can be heard on the outside is a little muffled thanx to the sound engineers. I already have a vt bass deluxe but want something that will have a more clean tone, giving me the actual tone of the stingray which I love.

Avalon U5. Pretty clean, but sounds great live and in the studio. Matches nice with the MusicMan basses.

Since getting mine, I never leave home without it.

I prefer the pre/EQ/DI devices normally designated
as being for acoustic instruments. I've got a Hartke,
a Baggs, and a Fishman.

These tend to play very clean, cuz, uhm, "Acoustic"!
Also tend to have very favorable EQ centers for me,
cuz I'm into LOW but NOT into the slam-thud thingy.

All of the above suggestions are good. However, no matter what signal you send to the house PA, the sound engineer can alter it significantly with EQ.

You should discuss the situation with the sound engineer. Perhaps he/she is adjusting for limitations of the sound system; perhaps it's a sonic preference on the part of the engineer or the venue.

Despite your love of the HH PU config, prolly the only
PU setting that an "engineer" cannot toadally muddify
is the bridge single coil on an HS PU config. However,
you can approximate that effect by tilting your bridge
humbugger way up at its bridge coil and way down on
the other coil ... and acoarst do not play the neck PU
at all. Also do not use any bass boost ... NONE ! Even
a bit of bass cut and a lotta mids boost might be just
the thing for some of your mudd slinging engineers.
