...looks great! I'm surprised there is no thread going on this topic (did I miss it)? The clean, bright graphics and photos are compelling and I dig the whole look very much. The absence of an "instrument builder" is understandable (been there, done that) and I am finding it quite easy to visualize any instrument I am lusting for in any color/pickguard combo. (Sterling 5, Sterling HS, Bongo...) There is a lot to see and experience and I must say it is a job very well done. For those who haven't checked it out, get on the stick. For those who have, please chime in with your $.02... :)

Are we allowed to critize now?

The 30th Anniversary StingRay is missing in the history pics...

And the Bongo is still available in Walnut Burst...

Looking good BP. I musta been one of the first to log on cos I am sure I was on there on Thursday night. Ironically I was logging on to go to the instrument builder :(.

But that said the whole site is looking a lot fresher and the pics are really clean and sharp.

I really like the new site too and the multiple instruments views are great

Although I think it would be nice to scroll through colour combinations for the specific instrument you're interested in - I find it a little hard to figure out what pickguard to choose for my Medallion Gold Bongo6 based on a picture of an Axis which doesn't have one :D I appreciate that's a lot of pics to take though and perhaps it will all come in the fullness of time.

Another comment: those of us who live in ancient medieval english villages connected to the 21st century by damp pieces of string have to wait a long time for the initial images to load for each instrument. It may be an idea to change the order the page loads so some basic text info (or preferably a single first pic) loads first - so we have something to drool over while the little whirly thing goes whirl-whirl for nearly 60 seconds :)

 Probably got quite a bit of coin invested in it, though, don't ya? That stuff ain't cheap - even if it's done in-house - as you well know.

I get the feeling, though, that your comment about pulling it may've more so been to send a signal to folks to back off with some of the comments. I've noticed (from the other thread about it & now this one) that you're pretty touchy when it comes to the new site. Maybe just the mark of a perfectionist & someone who's fully vested & takes alot of pride in his business & its outputs (which we all benefit from as knuckleheads) - especially given the role & significance of a company's web presence these days.

It's interesting to see, though, and if there's more to it, I'd be interested in knowing what's behind it, if you'd care to tell.

In any case, I think it's safe to say that we're all thrilled & impressed with the new site. I know I am. It looks freakin great.

Hey,just wanted to say big kudos on the new site...hadn't been there since "beta" and I'm really impressed. Things loaded pretty quickly and there is a ton of good info on pickup magnet material and wiring (series/parallel), which was a little confusing before. I think it's excellent...love it!

Robert....If you take a step back from this forum there are some people that really forget about who owns the place and what goes into things. I am smart enough to know that many people could have done better but some of the experts who chose to introduce thier input would have been better recd if they had posted links to the stuff that they could do better.

The entitlement gets really old. Just stop and think...what guitar company allows you to be involved more than us? Did we ask for scathing reviews? It is a website.

BP,

I've witnessed remarkable goodwill for EBMM the company, the management, the employees and the product in this forum. Perhaps this open criticism of the site is a direct result of the connection you've allowed us to create with EBMM, and with you. I believe, or at least I want to believe that the criticism is an enthusiastic response to being asked to be a small part of the EBMM experience.

That's how I choose to see it through my rose colored glasses. The critics are part of the family, too, even if they need a refresher course in tact and diplomacy.

I get that, BP.

Can't argue there. I keep telling myself I shoulda joined the forum YEARS ago, for that & other reasons.

I also agree with John's thoughts about the nature/motivation of some of the "critical" comments. I think the notion of that being a form of enthusiasm over having been welcomed to contribute & provide input, makes alot of sense & feels right to me ... especially since I've had the chance by now to observe & kinda get to know some of the more active forumites & get a feel for where they're coming from when they say certain things. I got the feeling that some of the expert input (atleast that I saw/read - I'm sure I didn't see all of it) was along the lines of "constructive criticism", offered under the impression that that's what was wanted ... a feedback loop kinda thing ... free quality control testing. :)

Anyway, the site rocks.

I like the website. Looks tight and awesome.

As for beta, everything has to start somewhere.

considering the attention to detail that this company puts into everything they do, I think in the end the new website will be no exception. hats off to you and the crew BP, I appreciate the fact that you are not just throwing up a generic website, but are taking the time to tweak it into what we have all come to expect from EBMM. Oh, and don't you and the team have some other things going on as well? Oh, thats right you make some of the best guitars and basses on the planet!
