So I've been hanging around here a little more. I've got my DD Bongo HH and am enjoying it quite a bit. Been wading through some of the drama, which, you know, keeps ya interested.

I comes across a thread where BP says that the 30th SR is the finest Stingray ever made. Hmmm I says. Then he says (somewhere else or in another thread) that some store(s) are blowing them out and they don't know what they've got - or something to that effect.

So I says to myself "Self, perhaps these deserve a look..." Quite honestly, never really thought about a SR, but I have been wanting some single H goodness - and hell, if its the best ever made...

Take a look see and the local GC sold the one that had been there forever. So I go to the EBMM site and poke around the dealer page and think about calling some of the local/regional stores to feel them out. Then, by some twist of fate, I accidently click on a dealer name - low and behold, the store inventory is there. I never knew...

Well, none in the Milwaukee area. Then I think - hey I'm going to St. Louis this week, perhaps a fine establishment in River City would have one. Aces! One at a Guitar Center and one at a nice little shop called Eddie's - chatted with both dealers on the way down and made plans to check it out.

After loading the contents of my daughter's freshman year (SLU) into the Jeep, we head over to Eddie's - its closer. I'll quit babbling - it felt great, played great, looked great, and I bought the damn bass! I'll have to be honest, I pretty shocked at how much I like this beauty so far - never thought I'd have an SR. Plus, its just damn gorgeous - much better in person.

EBMM Dealer shout out - Eddie's Guitars is a great little shop. Very well appointed, clean and comfortable. Not a lot of basses, but what they do have are top notch - and right when you walk in. Had 5+ EBMM basses - the 30th and a 2007 Blue dawn, along with others. What I noticed most was the product was displayed nicely, clean, and the set-up and tuning maintained - I complimented them on this, and they said they work hard to keep it that way. Even offered to tune it for me and check the set-up. Nathan treated me very well, and I'm very happy with the bass and the price.

Nice score, I luv's me some 30th. Yup, I've been to Eddies and a nice shop it is. What did he have in Blue Dawn? It's not up on the site yet.
I may have to mosey over and take a look see this weekend.

I believe it is a rosewood board Stingray 4 single H. Very nice, but I think Blue Dawn is a little too flashy for me!

Lorino the grain on that body is fabulous.

I know that it is hard to believe when someone involved promotes something...but I really am proud of all we make. Last year was a benchmark year for us and the seeds planted are so damn exciting. I stand by my comment the 30th Sr is the best stingray ever made.

Thanks Jim,

Come to think of it, I think I saw your bass at Eddie's as I was there about a month ago. I didn't pay much attention to it since I already have one. I think I'll
scoot over there tomorrow to see the blue dawn in person

Ok...the truth.

Mine came direct in an unopened box from Col.

Craftsmanship can't be faultered.

I had the prior intention of putting in a 2 Band EQ preamp rather than the existing 3EQ.

To my surprise, I was blown away by the 3EQ...you can dial in anything you want.

Originally it was a little thin on the E but I put on some thicker guage strings (Slinky regulars) and WOW.

Get them while you can Guys

I'm just sayin.

(And trust me...I'm a Lawyer)
