For the last couple of weeks, I've had my mind set on buying another bass. For some reason, I've had my mind set on a Lakl**d 55-94. For some reason, I've always wanted to own a boutique type instrument. When I got there, I didn't really like the feel of the Lakland, so I picked up the Fodera emporer 5 that was on the wall. I hated the sound, but it did play great. I played a Ken smith for about ten minutes that was nice, but honestly it wasn't close to my sr5. So then of all people, my girlfriend who doesn't know the difference between a bass guitar and a saxaphone said to me and I quote "why are you looking at these guitars when you spend so much time on the ernie ball web site? You should look at another ernie ball if you like them so much." At that moment I felt a little pain in my stomach and knew that I wouldn't be happy with any of these guitars I was looking at. So, I didn't buy any of them. Instead I went to a furniture store and bought a new mattress. Now I have two reasons to sleep good at night.

I'm going today to get another sr5.

Hey I hear ya bro. I Had 2 sterlings for a while and decided I wanted to try something "different" So I traded one of them for a G & L L-2000. Which is a good bass but doesnt have that "feel" like the sterling or the SR5 I had before it. While I do still have my fav bass of all time, My beloved red 94' sterling, I still am left with the feeling that I betrayed my own kind. :( Im just waiting on someone over at the pit to want to trade an L2k for a sterling or any other MM product. Only then can I right the wrongs I have done. :D

I also have a Red Sterling... for a few years i started using "Custom" basses and always was looling for something else... A few months ago I took the Sterling again for a rehersal and man!!!... EVERYONE in the band told me that my bass never sounded better!!!... Now I'm always using the Sterling and saving for my BONGO....

I NEED A BONGO TO PLAY WITH ONGO...

I'm with ya

I have been to the bass gallery in midtown and tried the Lakelands, Roscoes
Dingwall, some but not all played great. None could get the growl or the feel.
I had traded my First Sr5 for a Bongo 5, I bought another Sr5 in egyptian smoke/with black pearl guard. I now have a lined Bongo fretless on the way sometime in late May or early June. So much for the boutique rave.
I have owned Wals... but they couldn't come close to the sound or feel.
