My band supporting Paul Gilbert tonight (now including photos)

Paul Gilbert is playing in my town tonight and my band is the only support act!!!
I'm a huge PG fan, he's one of my biggest influences as a guitarist and I can hardly wait to play this gig!
My JP6 is gonna do 90% of guitar work tonight!!!

So, wish me luck!!!
I'll post pictures tomorrow!!!

Ivan - hearing your playing the other week - you won't have any problems.

I hope you're not as nervous as I was when I supported a major band in the 70's, all I was doing 30 mins before the gig was being sick!!

Break a leg man and let yer playing do the talking!!

Sure it was in front of 2000 people at the TOP Rank Club in Cardiff and we were supporting a fellow Welsh Band called Racing Cars who had a number one UK hit with "They Shoot Horses".
Another band at the time were called Sassafras and we supported them as well - they always drew a big crowd. Another one was Medicine Head.
But the band who shared a residency with us in a club in Cardiff was a band called Trapper, who had John Sloman (went on to play with Uriah Heap, and Pino Palladino).

There were always great guitarists hanging out in that Club - Dave Edmunds, Mickey Gee and Paul Chapman (UFO).
They were great daze !!! ;)

Saw them on "Whistle Test" when I was a student....the only famous band from Newport??
Still got a cassette of their first album. Good stuff.
Their singer (Morty??) was famous for downing whisky by the bottle.

CDs actually still available on Amazon!!

Morty's still the same - still drinks too much! he looks bad for it too!
No Andy it wasn't Newport they were from the Valleys.

It was Morty who gave me a few kind words before we went on and calmed me down.

I forgot another guy I see quite a bit is Burke Shelley from Budgie.
They are still going.
