Me and my band have been busy in the studio, creating a 5 track CD which should be completed in around a month (or two at the latest)

The songs are originals, aimed at children. We first played them at a saturday morning group for autistic children and they went down a storm, so we've got a few more events lined up similar to that.

If you are interested, here is a VERY ROUGH mix of one of the songs we are working on. I'll keep everyone updated...can't wait until they're finished. Feedback would be appreciated, be it kind words or crushing criticism!

Anyway, here is Give Peas A Chance, with their number 1 hit 'Food Song'

Thanks
Zak

I like the song and the playing. Maybe its just me, but I can't hear the bass too well

Mind sharing your settings and how you recorded the bass (direct, compression, etc)?

Thanks

Well Mr Bacon, I didn't want to mention it initially (this being the EBMM forum) but I used a double bass miced up (one condenser directed above the bridge and another and another facing the strings from the ground) This is generally regarded as the best way to record and upright bass for a tight yet fat sound.

The mix at the moment is still rough, and minimal (verrrry minimal) EQ/effects/balancing has actually taken place. We'll be back with a bigger and better mix soon enough, and hopefully the bass will be higher in the mix. I agree with you, especially in the chorus it does get a bit lost.

Anyway, glad you guys all appreciate it! Wait till you hear our song 'Point At The Map' which is full of crazy breakbeats...and remember guys, Cookie Dough is not a meal.

Just rise a bass channel level, I don't want make any influence to Your tone settings, that's Your choice and sound signature!

Just rise volume master pot of the bass..., everything else is just fine! ;)

Heheh, turn up the bass channel level, got it...why didn't I think of that before!?

We're going to add some keys to this track I think, and then master it properly.

Mix is now much better, very good indeed, I have noticed only that Hi-Hat is missing? Is there any at all? (I listened through small TEAC 2 way monitor speakers)

Sounds really good man, odd song, but I like it. I want to go eat a steak now for some reason...

Cheers man, it is indeed a liitle odd, but I reckon it has a bit of charm.

I just gave some of your tracks another listen, man they sound good! Come to think of it I listened to MingusBASS's stuff earlier too, that's also bloody good.

We should all make a compilation CD from members of the forum who have recorded with EBMM instruments. Thanks for the compliment, that was recored with my HH Ray, and the guitars are done with a Musicman JP6.

I like it Zak, fresh and original. You should write a song about Boppa's Big Smokers and you could be in for a sountrack deal, know what I mean, 'arry? ;)

Heheh, thanks Wazoo, if we get the "go ahead" from Pops, then definitely! I'll have some other other tracks pretty soon, I'll keep y'all posted.
