This is my first Music Man and I,m amazed by it. The tone, the look. It,s fantastic.
I play bass for over 10 years and owned 2 Yamahas, Peavey, Warwick and many others but MM Bongo is over them.

I bought it from forum member (thanks Ron) about 2 months ago and had to wait until now cos I live in Poland, a small european country, and shipping here takes about 1 month. Then I had to pay 35% tax and wait another month. This two monts were really painfull cos I had to sell my previous bass to get money for this one, and I ended with no instrument for that time.

New MM Bongo 5 HS in Polnd costs about 3000$

your Welcome, It's actually Ron and seeing pics of that bass makes me wish I had it back. this is the bongo with the natural neck, and I can't believe the tax that some of these other countries impose. you should show the back of the neck.

Oh, sorry for this misteake, it was really late night when I wrote it.

About the neck: natural finish looks great and feels good during play. I had bases with painted neck and it's really mather of time to get used to it. But I like what You did whit Bongo, now it's unique:D I post more pics when I, back from work.

Wow. Custom ordered or selfmade?
I guess natural neck option would make the bongo moire appealung to loing time oil & wax players like me...

No such thing as "custom-ordered" with an unpainted neck.

But, it isn't difficult to achieve this look if you don't care about warranty or resale value. :D

Nice Bongo!

Is it Sapphire Black or Carbon Blue Pearl? Hard to tell from the photos; both those finishes are hard to catch with a camera.

I would never have considered combining Carbon Blue Pearl with a tort guard ... however after seeeing it, I like it very much. Good score! I personally like the natural neck/mod also ... I'm a big fan of natural wood/oil/wax on the neck.

this one sold for a fair price, and like I said before if the job is done right, you can't tell that it didn't come from the factory like that.

ya, I think Monkeee and me are the only ones with shaved(sanded) necks and I have to tell you, IMHO it takes the Bongo to a whole new level. by taking the finish off it actually makes the profile of the neck get just a hair more slim and just feels sweeeeeeeeet!

I would highly recommend the Telly Savalas to any Bongo owner :D
