View attachment 3384 This is my first EBMM. I've been trying every bass I could find and was overwhelmed with the tone and quality of this bass. The information in this forum was very helpful so my thanks to all! First gig (classic rock/country band) with it was last night - and wow - lost track of the number of compliments on the bass and tone. Actually had three different bass players in the audience that came up during breaks to try it! :D

wow... a brand new 30th, first gig, and you let other bass players touch it? that's like going on a first date and letting your friends put their hands all over your girl. well... maybe not exactly. :D you're a brave man! congrats on the 30th!

That's beautiful!

I also recently got my first MM, a Stingray 5 HH, and love it as well. I bought it used as kind of an experiment and while it was in immaculate shape and really well made, I was kind of surprised at first because I wasn't totally sold on the sound. But after finally playing it in a band situation I found out that's where it seems to excel. It really worked well and I had no trouble getting sounds I needed from it or being heard over drums and a loud guitar.

I'll have to take some pictures and post them later. It's a vintage sunburst with matching headstock and a tort pick guard. It's gorgeous!

EDIT - I did find a picture on my PC at work that the original owner took before I bought it. it's not a great shot, but it isn't bad.

DaveO: Interestingly enough, the last decision I made came as a choice between the HH 5-string in vintage and the 30th and it was not an easy decision. The one I played was fantastic and it was a beauty.

I'm already thinking I'd like to add a 5-string (it would be quite handy to have especially a low D and C for the band tunes -at least that will be my excuse...) - the 20th anniversary 5 string has caught my attention as well... :) :)
