ok it works now!! so here is my opinion:

1. you got skills dude!!! nice melodic and fast runs throughout the whole track, my criticsm goes to your tone, I'm not a fan of direct recorded guitars (they sound very digital), but it's just me

2. piezo solo is awesome!! great sound and very very clean and melod-ish, I like it

3.very nice nice wankfest ;) although the tone "issue" like in the first track occurs

all in all, very nice, you're have a big talent peat!! ROCK ON

:) cheers phillip

thank you very much for your kind words

the piezo solo has music behind it but i just uploaded the solo track of it

i agree about the tone
and the direct recording
while it is bearable
i would much rather to do some cab micing
its just very hard for me to do with the space and resources i have
i have done a bit but
i might upload it sometime if you would like to hear it?

ya sure why not it would be great:), and as for the cab micing and what not, I've just watched DT's live at Budokan DVD, and in the bonus material there is a moment when JP is standing next to his cabs, and plays a small fragment of "As I am" and sounds just horrible, fizzy, without definition, so really micing the amp can do miracles to the actual sound,

ill upload some more later on today

i know the exact moment you are talking about on the budokan dvd

i think however its just because petruccis playing fairly loudly
and the mic on the camera that was filming it was overloaded
im sure it would have sounded beautiful if you were standing there
or sitting in front of it like portnoy was :)

ill upload more this afternoon
thanks again phillip

Hey Peat,

Wow, that was great! The first one sounds a little "Satchy" to me. I really like the tone as well.

Man, I can't get my Pet to sound that good. My fault, not the guitar's. I should go practice now....

thanks scottie :)

i agree about the satch
mainly cos of the whammy tapping at the end?

i had just gotten the whammy after never having one
and was listening to curve by john petrucci
and he does it a bit in there
and thought instantly 'SATCH MOVE'
but theres no denying it
it is sooo much fun
and sounds pretty cool too
:)

the only upside of the directly recorded guitar is that i can get stereo reverb and delay

thanks for listening scottie :)

thank you so much
it means alot to me to hear that

ive been playing for something like 10 years i think?
although i do play alot of other styles
i do alot of fingerpicking on the acoustic (tommy emmanuel style)
and i love singing
good melodies and chord patterns (beatles, burt bacharach...)

thanks very much for your praise larry :)

No problemo, keep posting stuff.

I think the tone actually reminded me of a "Not of this Earth" era type Satch. And those legato type runs too.

I just listened to it again and notice a little Randy Rhoads type lick in there as well (ala Flying High Again) as well.

Way cool!

The first one wouldn't stream, but the other 2 worked. Great playing. You definitely do your homework. Wish I could hear the first one.
