OK, so I'm at band practice last night and I plug up the pumpkin ray for a good time. I notice while I'm tuning the response is a little off. So I hit the button and send the signal to amp and all I hear is a rather flatulent noise when I hit the E string and then the volume just completely tanks. From that point on the volume comes in and out with no cause. I turned the volume knob and it sounded a little scratchy, so I stayed on it for a little bit and it smoothed out. From then on it cut out two or three more time during the first two songs and then behaved perfectly normally. What the hell? Of course I changed the battery and checked all my connections. It is (or was) a bass born problem. HELP!

New batteries aren't always good either. I would try and get a reading off the battery with a volt meter

I one time had a center pin in my cable get loose took me a bit to find it. It would do the same thing as you describe there.

Also did you run it straight into the amp from the head? Maybe the tuner circuit is going el corrupto.

Stick the batteries to your tongue, if they shock the ***** out of you, batteries are fine.
