My guitar

I think so....sometimes when you go to a thicker gauge string, you have to have the nut filed. I would leave that up to a qualified luthier because as JimiD would say..."filing down a nut is an art that should not be practiced by the everyday man.." Now I have gone from 9's to 10's before without the nut being filed, but I would make sure by asking you local guitar tech.

I had one of my JP's fitted with 11's and the nut had to have some work done to it. So, that is my experience with it.

I have always used .009s on my guitar i as wondering if i would have work done on the nut of the guitar if i put on larger strings?

You should be okay going up a gauge without playing with the nut. You might even get away without having to adjust the trussrod. The saddles will definately need adjusted and, if your guitar has a trem, you'll probably need to adjust the trem claw.
