Hey guys,

Since I've found others linking their videos and tunes, I hope this isn't seen as a song or band plug. Ultimately, I think the guitar's worth is dependent on how it sounds, much more so than how it looks (course, looks can't hurt!). I'd mentioned earlier that I was breaking in my JP6P with a techno/trance/rock thang. This was my first go at recording with the Piezo, which pretty much upped the value of this fine guitar beyond my expectations. So many sounds! I used parts that were a combo between mag/Piezo as well as just Piezo.

Anyways, the tune's recently been added to our site, and you can find it here: The Chase.

If anyone's on the fence about Piezo vs. non-Piezo, this is my argument for having it.

Jay,

I love the new track, and the JP sounds amazing!

What are you using to record? (i.e. amp, effects, cab, mics)
The lead sound reminds me a bit of Tangerine Dream, especially on the "Tyranny of Beauty" album.

Great, great job.

Hey, thanks, Steve! Especially cool to get nice words from a fellow guitarist. This was a fun track to do.

Ok, geek stuff: Marshall TSL602 is mic'ed with a MXL condensor microphone > Firewire interface > iMac > Logic Express. I guess I'm old school -- I can't get into playing into one of those digital boxes. What I do is noisy, and cables are everywhere, but it works for me.

I usually play the Marshall full-gain on the lead setting with some reverb. My "Fractal Garden" sound has a bit of chorus and (obviously) delay. When I'm wearing my hard rock/metal hat, chorus and delay are out the window.
