Jim,

Cool. I was hoping to find a P90 model with a tremolo, but ended up with a stock, non tremolo bridge. I love the guitar, and would like to find one with the vintage tremolo. Great, great guitars.

Hey Dave,

Were you looking for the Axis Sport or Axis Super Sport? I was looking online and found an Axis Sport with the MM90's but standard tremolo in Tacoma Washington. How far away is that from you? That particular piece is a Vintage Sunburst with a maple neck. It's at Sluggo Music in Tacoma, (253) 272-7584. I'll see what I can find as far as the super sports go, I'll probably have better luck since they are still in production.

Maybe I jinxed myself thinking I'd have better luck with the Super Sports... I didn't find any. If you'd like to look yourself, go to ernieball.com, click music man, then click dealer locator and plug in a zip code. It will give you all the MM dealers within 100 miles. I was using 98005 for your zip. Thanks man.

Mike,

Thanks for the reply. Is the Axis Super Sport model going to stay in production? I guess I'm confused about which Axis models are discontinued. If the Super Sport model will be continued (I hope, I hope), I could get one in the future. If its being discontinued, please let me know, and I'll scour the universe for what's available. Mine current one feels like a guitar I've always been looking for!

I'm loving my Axis Super Sport with P90s, but I'd like one with the vintage tremolo and P90s. I lean towards the translucent finishes (organge, gold, cherry burst and natural).

My Axis SuperSport has one volume knob and one tone knob. I see in the MM brochure some SuperSports showing three knobs. What is this knob configuration?

thanks for making great guitars,

As of about 2 months ago, there were three types of Axis guitars: The Axis, the Axis Sport, and the Axis Super Sport. The Axis Sport is the one that has been discontinued. The other two, including the Super Sport, aren't going anywhere. You can order either one at any MM dealer. Cherry Burst man, nice choice. That's my personal favorite, and Tobacco Burst and Pacific Blue Burst are real nice too. As for the three knobs, you're lookin' at a Super Sport with piezo and the third knob is for piezo volume. Hope this helps!

Mike,

Thanks for the clarification on the models and the extra "piezo pickup" knob on the Axis. I'm glad to know that the Super Sport is not discontinued. Consequently, I'll be looking for a tremolo P90 model down the road, but happy to gig with my non tremolo P90 model "as is". Its a great axe.
