Well folks...here's the new baby. After much debate about what color to go with I pulled the trigger and got myself a Ruby Red BFR JP with a sick ass quilt top. All I can say about this guitar is....amazing. Today was actually my first time playing a BFR JP, as I bought it without even trying one first. The minute I opened the case my heart skipped a beat. I can't even begin to describe how this guitar totally surpassed my expectations. I thought it was just gonna be a better looking, beefed up JP. Well, it definitely is that, and so much more. The tone out of this thing is phenomenal. I brought my trusty Mark IV combo along, and also played it through a friends modded Plexi. This guitar just oozes gobs and gobs of tone! The top is AMAZING! The piezo tone is outstanding, and I love the body contours and finished neck way more than the unfinished original JP neck. Thanks EB for making an instrument of this caliber available to the hard working public. Sterling, JP, everyone at EB, you guys all get my gracious thanks. :D Also a big thanks to the forumites who posted pics of their BFR's and made me want one! Here's some pics:

By the way...there's a pretty cool story behind this that I just wanted to tell you guys about. I looked through all 28 pages of the BFR's and this one stuck out as having the best quilt I'd ever seen, post #210, so I took down the serial number, called my friend James at my local GC and had him track it down. That next day I was going to take a trip to the Rockville, MD GC to try out a couple Pet BFR's. As it turns out, the Rockville store was the one that had the one I wanted. Hell of a coincedence. Although the Rockville store gave my local GC a hard time about sending it out, we finally got it and I couldn't be happier. Thanks GC!

Congrats! It is a real beauty!! Have a great time playing it!

Thanks! I most definitely will. I can't pick it up from the store for a week, but I rocked out on it today for about 6 hours! I'm just glad the GC employees up there are all personal friends and don't mind me hanging around the store. Haha.

Mike, it definitely looks better in person. When I opened the case, the color and quilt absolutely blew me away.

Yeah, when I saw this baby, I had to go for her. She almost looks like she has a one piece quilt instead of 2. Very cool to say the least :D.

That's fate man!!! Congratulations!!!:D

Thanks Lionel!

Sweeeeet! That's a great looking guitar. Have fun.

Thanks.

Haha. I guess I may be a little nuts, but you know how it is for us guitar players, the search for the perfect guitar and perfect tone are never ending. But I honestly think now I've found my perfect guitar. This baby is never leaving the stable, and I know I've said that before, but this time I'm dead serious.

Tony, I'm glad you could buy my MD JP. I'm sure you'll be very happy with it. I'm really glad I know its going to a good home. Be sure to play the **** out of that thing. :) As far as the BFR JP neck goes, it feels a little bit wider to me and also feels a touch thicker. I'm not sure if its because of the paint or what, but I absolutely love the feel of it. It was pretty easy to get used to because I used to own USA Jackson's with painted necks, so 2 minutes with the BFR and I was in my comfort zone.

Nice looking JP, congrats and enjoy.....................

Thanks!

She's beautiful! Enjoy it! :)

Thanks Thiago! I'm gonna try to eventually get a web cam and I'll put some vids of me playing her up on Youtube.

Thanks man. I love it. I did hear about Joe getting the Silo. He's getting a 20th isn't he? I'm sure after he gets that thing he'll be scrambling to get some more EBMM stuff. Haha. Tell Joe that Phil said what's up when you see him. Thanks bro.

Man, your comments are exactly how I feel about my JP6 BFR. Congratulations on getting one sick-a** axe! It's absolutely beautiful! I bet you'll have problems putting it down!

Congratulations, again!
