Sweet guitar, and great setup!

What do you use for an amp? I don't see one there amongst all the keyboards.

Are you a pro, or a hobbyist? ;)

I am a hobbyst. In fact I am a piano player. I have no idea to play guitar but I want to learn.

This is my first guitar and I don't have any amp yet. I use my Korg Zero8 as soundcard, and KRK V8 monitors with Revalver in my pc.

I have ordered an AXE FX ULTRA to complement it. Once I test it I will decide to buy an amp or not. It seems with that machine it is not needed.

In case I need an amp I have these amps in mind (I will use it at home):

- VOX AC 30 CC2X 2X12 ALNICO 120VX120
- Mesa Boogie Express 5:50
- EGNATER COMBO VÁLVULAS TOURMASTER 4212

Could you help me choosing it?.

Nice guitar congrats and very sweet studio, i cant play either LOL but i have fun trying:)

As far as those amps I would recommend the Egnater, i have the Rebel-20 it is a great amp, not found of the Vox amps and I had the Mesa Expess and did not like it.

Congrats! She's a beauty.

Re: Amps ... From what you have said, I gather that you will not be performing guitar live (at least not initially) and that you might be recording. Plus, it looks like you are in a small room. I suggest considering a high quality low wattage (15 watts or less, 5 watts even better) tube amp to get all the wonderful tones your JP is capable of.

I don't know how much experience you have with amps, but tube amps sound best when pushed and a 50- or even 30-watter can be REALLY loud. Even a 15 watt amp can be too loud depending on the amp and the circumstances.

Just a thought to consider.

Thank you for the information. Taking into account that I think it will better the Mesa Boogie Lonestar or the Egnater Tourmaster because you can play at different watts. Do you agree?

I will never perform live. I will play in a room of 6 x 6 meters.

The Mesa will be too loud for your room. There is a little trick (you can find it on the Mesa forum) whereby you modify a small jack to jack lead and place that in the send return loop. Then you can use the volume knob on the back to bring the volume down.
It's really difficult to advise you on an amp without knowing your style.

The Vox Valvetronix (My son has one) is an incredibly versatile amp and will give you a lot of options.
If you want a lot of gain at a low volume the little Black Heart 5 watt amps are great for the money as are the small Epiphone amps. I'm not sure where ya live(would be useful for you to put that into your details) but if in Europe Thomann do great deals on the small Epi amps.

Maybe pick up a THD Hotplate in that case...but you're better off getting a smaller (less powerful) amp, in any case.

Nice guitar. I saw a Bongo in that colour on Friday. It was nice!

Beautiful guitar.
At the risk of being attacked by the masses - I would suggest having a look @ the VG99 from roland. With it you can emulate many amps and guitars - and it sends midi as well. It is a very versatile machine that can come as close to the real thing as anything else I have heard.
If you need any more info on it - feel free to PM me. In the last year I bought a lonestar - which is a great amp - a THD bivalve and thd 2x12 cab and VHT deliverance (which is a tremendous amp btw!) and still favor my vg 99 for recording.
Happy new year,
Nick

The camera is a Nikon D3 with a 24-70mm.

I am a collector of good devices so I would like to have the best amp possible. I don't mind the money.

I am from Spain (Europe).

The music I would like to play: Dream Theater, Prince and U2. As I said before I will have soon an AXE FX ULTRA.

My opinion is that with the AXE-FX and those nice monitors you'll have awesome sound without any amp and it will be in stereo here is where it can get downright magical. Modellers always sound best through monitors and the volume is manageable.
