As soon as I pull-out my bass, my cat takes off ... it's automatic. Their hearing is a lot more sensitive than ours ... not sure if it's the volume or the quality that makes her head for the hills!

my cats do two different things.

Shadow, will climb into my lap no matter what I'm doing, her hobbies include climbing on my laptop, walking across keyboards, laying down on my leg in front of my bass, clawing at my leg if i'm doing anything other than petting her.

Eggs, He's a relaxed cat, he'll lay down on top of my foot and not move for hours. He also will come and enjoy me bass playing, but he lays on top of the cabinet.

I never play that loud for them because i like them not being afraid.

I've seen both sides of the cat debate. 1 or 2 are kinda nice.... 17 will terrorize you, your family, and the neighborhood. I know some people who don't know when or how to stop....
(I've owned in the past---anywhere from zero to 1 to 17....and not entirely by my choice, of course.)

HAHA! Just make sure the fiance knows that!

Just pullin' your leg, bro!:D

It's interesting to note that the engagement thread appears to have died an early death while the kitty thread continues.... :-/

2 cats is our limit. Well, 2 cats and one dog. That's about all the fur and poop I can handle.

We were up to 3 cats one time but right now we only have two. We'll probably get another one in the next year or so. I also have 5 Koi in my pond out back. Cats inside, fish outside.

BTW - We can talk about our cats and not get into trouble. Wives, gfs and fiances are a different story altogether though. :D

Congrats on the pretty kitty. I have three. One is ancient: going on 17 years old!

All are former strays except for my purebred Oriental male who comes running whenever I play bass or guitar. The funny thing is he doesn't mind if the volume is loud. Doors can be rattling but he won't budge cause he likes music that much. Sits next to the amp too. Maybe he's half deaf and I don't know about it. :D

Catz rule! (nice kitty there!) :D

We got two here, plus all the thieves (the ones that come everyday for a "free"
meal, LOL). One of those now sleeps on the patio chairs, at 5:30 in the morning
he's ready for his snack, LOL Lil' sucker... we'll probably end up adopting this
one, he's just too cute (who's the sucker, really...)
