many thanks for the welcoming comments

having spent some fun hours properly playing the BFR, it really does exactly what I need of a plank. with the 3ch amp, and the volume knob I am anywhere in LP land that I choose to be.
I played around with speaker choice as the alder strats that I used to mainly use have a different EQ, and the mahogany BFR sounds darker. it was fun to change that, and I am in a new world in which I am very comfortable.

I have been yanked unceremoniously out of strat-land.

thanks Keith

I hope to get one of these hand-helds soon to capture the room sound and mate it to the camera for clips
the neck is super comfortable, and I prefer the gloss finish, which is another complete reversal of years with satin necks
I am also digging the 9s over my usual 10s - damn this thing changed my whole perspective in an instant. new woods, neck finish, string gauge, and speakers. it seems you can teach an old dog new tricks.
