After quite a few complications with UPS and Indoor Storm I finally ended up getting this Envy Green limited edition 7-string. While the Sapphire that was lost by UPS had very minimal damage, I wanted a new guitar so I sent it back.

This Envy Green is much more beautiful in person than it is in the pics I've seen. The Sapphire Black just didn't compare to the Envy when placed side by side. I tried to capture the dark emerald color as best I could in the pics. I used to think it was just the green of the Mystic Dream finish, but it's not even close. I also didn't realize that the neck plate has 'Limited Edition' engraved on it near the serial #. The guitar itself reminds me of Robin Hood or something. It has a very earthy/foresty look to it.

I was also told that recently Ernie Ball increased the list prices on their 7-string models by $200. So a fully loaded 7 now lists for $2685 and the limited edition models (Envy Green, Radiance Red, ButterCream) will list for $2885.

I know Indoor Storm plans on eBaying the 7-string I sent back. The damages are minimal and can't be seen without inspecting it. The guitar still plays perfectly too, so somebody might be able to get that one at a bargain. There will also be a brand new one just like it arriving in their shop in about 3-4 months.

I've updated my EBJPM gallery with new pics of Sapphire Black and Envy Green too.

Looks great. I'm going to stick with 6 strings until I master those. ;)

I have the 6 string JP Limited in Envy Green - I think it's the most beautiful finish for a solid colored guitar - I love it. I looked at a Mystic Dream one a couple of weeks ago at Express Music here in Seminole, FL, and it looks very similar at most angles, when it's not color changing. But the main color seems to be Envy green or a very similar shade of green.

Those pictures are great. The ones I take are always too dark, so I've posted one taken professionally by the guitar store I bought it at.

Is that the one that Indoor Storm had that's signed by JP?

When you master the six string let me know! :)

Yes, that's the guitar at Indoor Storm. I was at the RMA the night he signed all of those back plates. I've got a signed one for each of my petrucci models. :)

I'd love to switch to playing the seven exclusively, but with teaching and other things it's just not practical. The seven string feels much better in my hands and is easier for me to play on. This guitar will be getting a lot of use for everything else outside of learning/teaching though. I love having the extra low notes to use.

There is no disputing that this is one of the better colors on these guitars. :)

All I can say is... WOW. That is a beautiful guitar.

I was going to order a JP7 w/ Sapphire Black finish. But my opinion has changed greatly. I have one problem. I don't see Envy Green as an available color on the chart!

Am I to late to get one?!

Yes you are, that's why they call it "limited edition" :p
