Just received my new Candy Red Silhouette Special HSS about 30 minutes ago. WOW!
The guitar is awesome! Not a nick, smudge, or any type of flaw anywhere. That is very rare these days - as some of my other guitars, a couple which are more expensive demonstrate.
The polished frets were one of the first things I noticed. They are a thing of beauty.

I've only played it for a few minutes and I see immediately that I now can play Albert Lee's Country Boy (or attempt to) or Sweet Home Alabama on the single-coil PUPs, then switch to the bridge humbucker and play Steve Lukather (or attempt to) or Led Zeppelin type music.
This eliminates almost all of my other guitars except for my Gretsch G5120 that has fantastic tone for jazz, and my Gretsch Tennessee Rose with Hilo'Tron single-coil PUPs that have a unique tone to them.
Aaaaand, the tonal quality of the pickups is fantastic. Sounds just as good, perhaps better, than my American Strat - which I love the sound of.

Obviously I'm very happy with my 1st EB Music Man guitar. :D :D

I'll be tossing a couple pics in the "Official" pics-o-my-guitar thread tonight or tomorrow.

My guitar looked just like that when I first got it (except for the fretboard) .

Silo specials are indeed (pardon the pun) pretty special. They have a certain mojo to them IMO. Plus the shape is pure comfort, the slight differences from a regular silo actually seem to make a pretty big difference in feel.

They are indeed fine guitars.......mine is no longer immaculate after 5 years of gigs around the world, but plays as well as ever. Best purchase I ever made

Congrats and Welcome! I really need to talk my local dealer into getting some more EB guitars in stock. They only had a few JPs and a Benji. They need to get an AL, Axis, Luke, and Silo at least so I can try them all out!! If not then i'll have to go to GC in Knoxville about an hour and a half away... oh boy.

Hello Paranoid....yes, I was getting a little too addicted.......currently trying NOT to buy myself an Axis MM90 s/h from the UK. The same dealer also gas the exact same purple SS s/h as I already have.....but it would be stupid to have 2 the same, no?? Mind you it wouldn't have the ding on the front that the Chinese baggage handlers put on it in 2001. Anyway, this is not about me.....Volt.....you'll be wanting to show us a picture or 2??????
